Crowdfunding Fulfillment from China for Kickstarter & Indiegogo

Last updated: October 2026

Crowdfunding fulfillment is the process of storing, packing and shipping backer rewards after a Kickstarter, Indiegogo or similar campaign ends. Bitus handles the China side of that job: we receive your production run from the factory, inspect it, sort it by pledge tier, pack each reward and ship it to backers worldwide – so you can close your campaign and let a warehouse team absorb the spike instead of your living room.

This page explains how crowdfunding fulfillment works, why campaigns need a fulfillment partner, and how the workflow runs with Bitus from China.

What is crowdfunding fulfillment?

A crowdfunding campaign ends with hundreds or thousands of backers waiting for their rewards. Between “campaign funded” and “backer delighted” sits a lot of unglamorous work: the production run has to leave the factory, wait for quality checks, be counted and sorted, get matched against each backer’s pledge tier, be packed – often as kits with several items per reward – and shipped internationally with tracking.

That work arrives all at once. Normal ecommerce orders trickle in daily; a campaign dumps its entire backlog in one wave, and backers expect rewards soon after the campaign ends. Creators who try to self-fulfill often spend months packing boxes and still miss delivery estimates, which is the most common source of angry campaign updates and refund demands.

A crowdfunding fulfillment partner takes over that wave. You ship your production run from the factory to their warehouse; they receive, inspect, sort, kit, pack and dispatch every reward, and you report progress to backers instead of taping boxes.

Why fulfillment from China makes sense for most campaigns

Most hardware and consumer campaigns manufacture in China. If the goods are produced in Shenzhen and your backers are spread across the US, Europe and other regions, shipping everything to your home country first and then redistributing adds a full leg of freight, customs handling and cost. Fulfilling directly from China removes that middle step: goods go from factory to a local warehouse and out to backers on international lines.

With Bitus you also keep production and fulfillment close together. When the factory is an hour away from the warehouse, a defective batch found in QC can be corrected and re-delivered in days instead of weeks.

How does crowdfunding fulfillment work with Bitus?

You work with one named agent on WhatsApp and email, not a self-service dashboard. Here is the workflow:

  1. Plan before production ends. Share your reward tiers, estimated backer counts per tier and destination countries while your campaign is still running. Bitus quotes the project within 24 hours and helps you plan the wave instead of reacting to it.
  2. Receive and inspect the production run. Your factory delivers to the Bitus warehouse in Shenzhen (1,000 sqm, capacity of 5,000 orders per day). Goods are counted and inspected on arrival, so problems surface in China, not in a backer’s mailbox.
  3. Sort by pledge tier. Backer data – exported from Kickstarter, Indiegogo or your pledge manager as a spreadsheet – is used to sort and kit rewards. Multi-item tiers are assembled as complete kits so each backer receives exactly what they pledged.
  4. Store until dispatch. Inventory waits in the warehouse ready to ship. The first 90 days of storage are free; after that storage is USD 5 per cubic meter per day.
  5. Pack and ship worldwide. Rewards are packed and dispatched through lines covering the US, Europe (IOSS-aware), South Africa, Turkey, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Brazil. Tracking numbers are returned so you can update backers with real status.
  6. Handle the leftovers. Undeliverable parcels, address corrections and leftover stock are managed by your agent, and remaining inventory can roll straight into ongoing ecommerce fulfillment if you continue selling after the campaign – see our order fulfillment service.

Frequently asked questions

Which crowdfunding platforms do you support?

The fulfillment process is the same regardless of platform – Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Gamefound or self-hosted campaigns. What we need is a backer list with reward tiers and addresses, which every major platform can export.

How do you handle different reward tiers?

You send a spreadsheet of backers with their tier and contents. We sort inventory and assemble kits so each tier ships as a complete, correct package.

Can you add retail-style packaging or inserts to rewards?

Yes. Custom mailer boxes, stickers, thank-you cards and inserts are part of our branding and packaging services, and many campaigns use them to make the unboxing match the campaign promise.

Can you fulfill both the campaign and my ongoing store orders?

Yes. After the campaign wave, remaining stock can stay in the warehouse and flow into regular dropshipping or ecommerce fulfillment through Dianxiaomi (Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop).
